Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate past President of Nigeria, has retired to Katsina State.
Buhari departed the Eagle Square, Abuja for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport where he boarded the NAF 01 for the last time, enroute his home town, Daura, Kastina State.
Buhari had promised to retire to his home town and care for his farm. He left immediately the newly sworn-in President and VP, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima were sworn-in on Monday.
Before his departure, Buhari formally handed over flags to the new president and fulfilled all the requirements and duties expected of him, to the incoming administration.
Buhari will on Tuesday be hosted to a Durbar ceremony in Daura as a mark of welcome served two-terms as the 15th president of Nigeria, from May 29, 2015 to May 29, 2023.
