Ex-Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has spoken up as Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was suspended, stating that the apex bank’s helsman must be investigated for a series of “crimes against humanity.”
On his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode wrote that Emefiele needs to face prosecution for his alleged support for terrorism, huge corruption, and treason, among other things.
Newspread had earlier reported that CBN governor was suspended by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Director, Information for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, had noted in a statement that the suspension was in response to the current probe into his office and anticipated financial sector improvements.
Emefiele was also requested to transfer his office’s business to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who now serves as the apex bank’s Governor until the end of the probes and improvements.
Taking to his Twitter account, FFK tagged Emefiele as “the beast” and “The Greed”, stating that he is the embodiment of all that is terrible.
FFK added that never has a single person damaged Nigeria as much as Emefiele had done, noting that he deserves to face the full force of the law for his crimes against humanity and other heinous deeds and he (FFK) is glad for Nigeria and the Central Bank that Emefiele is gone.
