Officers of the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) have allegedly moved to protect an officer, simply identified as Tifase, who stabbed his caretaker and prevented the culprit from arrest by the Police.
It was gathered that the DSS operatives stabbed his caretaker, Omosola Oladele on Tuesday, during an argument which arose over the payment of an electricity bill at their residence in Tinumola area, Osogbo, Osun state.
An eyewitness said the DSS officer was reported to the caretaker by his neighbours over his refusal and nonchalant attitude to bills in the house and when the caretaker visited to resolve the issue, the DSS officer stabbed him with a dagger.
Narrating his ordeal from his hospital, the victim said:
“One of the tenants of the storey building reported to me that NEPA people came to cut light because they’ve paid the current electricity. She said that only two people, Tifase and one other person, have not paid.
“NEPA would have disconnected the light if people didn’t intervene but he angrily told me ‘they should cut it’. One of the eyewitnesses told him he should apologise for the utterance but instead, he went inside and came out with a dagger and stabbed me.”
Another eyewitness named Comrade Morounkola Tosin, who was in the hospital said the issue started August 16, when the occupants of the house needed to pay electricity bills.
Tosin explained that the the DSS operative and others who volunteered to pay the electricity bills to avoid disconnection paid on his behalf and started asking for refund.
Mr Tosin, the caretaker was invited to resolve the issue but was stabbed by the irate DSS operative.
“We rushed Mr Oladele to hospital and I went to report the case to Dada Estate Police Station. Before I came back from the police station I met some DSS operatives who said they cannot hand him over to the police because he is their operative.”
