Adamawa police command has arrested Muhammad Abubakar, popularly known as Malam Sabo, who disguises a ghost to defraud unsuspecting victims.

The State Police in a Tuesday statement, said the suspect who changes his voice to that of a woman or a child to trick his victims was arrested on Monday, after he recently defrauded a victim, to the sum of 300,000.00 naira.

The statement titled “Police nab man who disguises as ghost ro defraud people in Adamawa” reads:

“Adamawa state Police Command on 5/2/2024 arrested a 59years old Man for frequently defrauding members of the public.

“The suspect, Muhammad Abubakar a.k.a Malam Sabo is said to be a habitual 419 who specializes in defrauding members of the public in a disguised manner.

“Mostly, the suspect hides his identity, pretending to be a ghost, talking to his victims with different voices.

“The suspect, at times, changes his voice sound to that of a woman or a child to dupe his victims.

“Recently, he tricked and duped one Abba Bale of Demsawo of the sum of three hundred thousand (N300,000.00).”
