Child Support: More facts emerge after suicide by Nigerian-American doctor

More details have emerged following the death in the United States of a Nigerian-American doctor, Ikenna Erinne.

The late doctor’s marriage to a medical practitioner bride, Suzzette Chibogu, was said not to have proceeded due to factors not made public yet.

According to sources, the wedding was called off a day before the event.

As reported earlier, Dr Erinne killed himself after losing custody of his two children – including a special need kid. The doctor was asked to pay $15,000 monthly child support as a result of the disability of the child and the special school.

The would-be bride is the daughter of a popular social media influencer and businessman, Francis Van-Lare.

According to Van-Lare, also known as the Poi master, the deceased held his daughter and kids hostage at gun point for three hours. His daughter’s nanny managed to escape the scene and alerted the authorities.

The police stormed the house, and shot to disable the enraged doctor. He turned the guy on himself, and ended things rather than doing 25 years in jail for “kidnapping”.

Other sources have suggested that he may have been killed by the police, but investigation will reveal the facts.

From all accounts, it has been confirmed that the doctor’s licence was not revoked as he has not committed any professional infraction.
