The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has departed London, United Kingdom, for Katsina State ahead of his burial.

The former president will be laid to rest today in his hometown of Daura, Katsina. The aircraft left London few minutes behind schedule but is due to arrive around 1pm.

In Daura, his hometown, the digging of his grave in his compound which began earlier in the morning has been concluded.

According to reports, Buhari’s body was airlifted by a presidential aircraft from London on Tuesday morning.
