The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, while retaining the current National Working Committee (NWC) zoning arrangement for its November elective convention.
This decision was announced after the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Monday.
Briefing journalists, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the resolution followed the presentation of a zoning report by Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, who chaired the committee.
Ologunagba explained:
The National Chairman remains zoned to the North.
The 2027 Presidential ticket is zoned to the South.
NEC expressed satisfaction with preparations for the November convention.
This marks a major step in shaping PDP’s 2027 electoral strategy.
