President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, and the Executive Director of News, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, reversing recent management changes at the state-owned broadcaster.

Dembos, who was first appointed by President Tinubu in October 2023, will now return to complete his three-year tenure. Similarly, Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, has been directed to continue in office until his tenure expires in 2027.

The latest directive nullifies previously announced appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
