ARISE News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu killed in Abuja robbery attack

Tragedy struck on Monday, September 29, as ARISE News Channel confirmed the death of its anchor, reporter, and producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu.

The 29-year-old journalist, fondly known as Sommie, was killed during an armed robbery incident at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, now under investigation by the Nigeria Police.

In a statement, ARISE News described her as a vibrant voice on air, a supportive colleague, and a professional lawyer whose contributions left a lasting mark.

The station expressed shock over her death, extending condolences to her family and friends, while urging security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
