The revered evangelist and spiritual leader, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has died. He was 80 years old.

His death was confirmed in a statement issued by his family on Monday, October 7, 2025. According to the statement, the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association passed away on October 6, 2025.

The family framed his departure not as an end, but as a “glorious transition” from a life wholly dedicated to Christian service into eternal rest.

Widely recognised as a spiritual general and a founding father of faith in Nigeria, Rev. Ukpai dedicated over sixty years to evangelism. His ministry was characterised by dynamic teachings and prophetic demonstrations, which his followers believed showcased God’s power.

His work left an indelible mark, impacting millions of lives across Nigeria and around the globe. For generations, his teachings were credited with shaping destinies and fostering profound spiritual growth.

In their tribute, the family affirmed, “He was a faithful soldier of the cross who devoted his life to spreading the gospel with passion and integrity.
