The Federal Government has directed civil servants working at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress.
The directive was conveyed in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex Phases I, II, and III will be closed between March 27 and March 28 to facilitate security and logistics for the event, scheduled to hold at Eagle Square.
“This is due to the use of Eagle Square for the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the statement noted.
Consequently, workers in ministries, departments, and agencies located within the affected secretariat areas, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been instructed to carry out their duties remotely on Friday.
The circular further directed permanent secretaries and heads of agencies to ensure strict compliance.
The APC convention is expected to attract party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country, as the ruling party strategises ahead of the 2027 general elections.
