FFK redeployed To South Africa as Tinubu approves diplomatic swap

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has announced that President Bola Tinubu approved his redeployment as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to South Africa following a diplomatic reshuffle.

Fani-Kayode, who was initially nominated for posting to Germany, said the redeployment involved a swap with former presidential aide Ita Enang, who will now head to Germany.

According to him, he requested the change because he preferred serving in a country that aligns more closely with his political beliefs and pan-African ideals. He added that the request was forwarded to the President through Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and was subsequently approved.

Fani-Kayode also dismissed reports claiming Germany rejected his nomination, insisting the reports were false and malicious. He said legal action and security investigations had already been initiated over the publication.

The Presidency has yet to officially confirm the reshuffle, while ambassadorial postings remain subject to approval by host countries before diplomats can assume office.
