The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has declared that APC governors will not support or endorse any political alliance or arrangement capable of undermining President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid or the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections.
Hope Uzodimma, Imo State governor and chairman of the forum, made this known on Monday in Abuja after a meeting of the APC governors.
Uzodimma said the governors had unanimously resolved to support only Tinubu and candidates contesting under the APC platform at all levels.
He said the forum would not participate in any arrangement capable of creating confusion, divided loyalty or competing interests within the party.
According to him, the governors’ campaign efforts would be exclusively focused on APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Uzodimma also said the APC would adopt an integrated and locally responsive campaign structure, with all levels of its campaign machinery aligned with Tinubu’s expectations and the party’s strategic objectives.
The declaration comes amid the activities of a cross-party coalition led by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in support of Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.
