Tinubu arrives Kenya for Africa Forward summit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level gathering focused on economic transformation, regional cooperation and sustainable development across the continent.

President Tinubu’s aircraft touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time on Monday.

He was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in the East African country.

The summit, jointly hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, is expected to bring together African leaders, policymakers, investors, development partners and business executives to discuss key issues affecting the continent.

Discussions at the summit will centre on economic growth, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience and strategies for achieving collective prosperity in Africa.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation and advancing strategic partnerships capable of accelerating sustainable development across the continent.

The President is also expected to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at boosting Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with other African countries while reaffirming the country’s leadership role in continental affairs.

The Presidency stated that the summit aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its push for Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges through international engagement and collaboration.

Tinubu is accompanied on the trip by several top government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
