Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has denied any connection to a controversial audio clip circulating online, insisting that the recording was doctored and falsely attributed to him.

In a statement issued by his legal representatives, Deji Adeyanju & Partners, VDM’s management criticised comments allegedly made by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, regarding the audio.

The lawyers stated that a simple check of VDM’s verified social media platforms would have confirmed that he neither created nor shared the clip.

According to the statement, the incident supports the activist’s claims that certain powerful individuals are attempting to discredit and silence him over his outspoken views on public issues.

The legal team described the circulation of the audio as a deliberate attempt to damage VDM’s public image and called on security agencies to investigate those behind it.

“We call on relevant security agencies to investigate the source and circulation of the doctored audio and ensure those responsible are brought to justice,” the statement said.
