The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Nigeria, has called on media organisations to move beyond the traditional role of reporting events and become active partners in promoting moral values, integrity and national transformation.
The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by the FGBMFI Nigeria Lagos National Convention 2026 team to the headquarters of The Guardian newspaper in Lagos, where the fellowship sought collaboration with the media to advance value-based nation-building and social renewal.
Representing the National President of FGBMFI-Nigeria, Barrister Isaac Okpanachi, the Chairman of the Lagos National Convention Planning Committee, Mr. Sunny Beyioku, said Nigeria’s challenges extend beyond economics and politics to include a growing moral crisis that requires collective action from institutions, including the media.
He noted that issues such as corruption, insecurity, rising living costs, policy inconsistency, infrastructure deficits and declining social values underscore the need for journalism that not only informs but also inspires positive change and national development.
