The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illicit drugs worth more than N3 billion at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and arrested two Togolese nationals allegedly involved in a cross-border cannabis trafficking operation in Oyo State.

NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Babafemi said NDLEA operatives intercepted 2.55 million pills of Tramaking 225mg, Tramaking 250mg and Royal Tapentadol 250mg at the airport’s import shed on Tuesday, September 22.

The consignments, weighing 1,640.55kg, were imported from India and Bangladesh through Qatar Airways, RwandAir and Ethiopian Airlines.

In Lagos, two women, Odumabo Kehinde, 36, and Obiekwe Chioma, 40, were arrested on Saturday during a raid on Anifowoshe Street in Mushin, where 3.4kg of skunk was recovered.

The agency also arrested a 58-year-old man, Ugwu Johnson, at Ebute-Ero motor park with 5.920kg of skunk, 2,400 ampoules of pentazocine injection, 8,400 tablets of nitrazepam and 40,000 pills of tramadol.

In Oyo State, Babafemi said two Togolese nationals, Yinusa Abdulsamad, 35, and Fatai Baba, 33, were arrested along the Iganna-Ilero Road in Iganna.

The suspects were allegedly transporting 305.6kg of skunk concealed in two pickup vans as part of a cross-border trafficking operation involving cannabis sourced from Ghana.

Babafemi said the arrests and seizures were recorded on Saturday, September 26.

He added that the agency continued its War Against Drug Abuse sensitisation campaign during the week, reaching schools, worship centres, workplaces and communities in several states.

The activities included sensitisation programmes at Community High School, Saki, Oyo State; Auchi College, Edo State; Alkali Modibbo Islamic Centre, Dukku, Gombe State; and Junior Arabic Secondary School, Kahu, Kano State.

The Delta Ports Command also paid a WADA advocacy visit to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
