Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sector Command has affirmed the fatal accident which happened on Friday morning killing three people and leaving one injured.
Okpe said the accident happened around the Total petrol station area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and it involved a Toyota Sienna utility vehicle with registration number BDG 426 HT and a DAF truck marked RNG 558 XC.
Unfortunately, seven people, including four men, two women and one child, were involved in the incident.
Okpe put the blame on the Sienna driver, saying he was on high speed. She explained that preliminary findings showed that the Sienna driver rammed into the DAF truck, which was coming out of the trailer park.
“The injured victim was taken to Isaara General Hospital for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at FOS morgue, Ipara. Operatives are still on the ground managing the traffic situation,” she said.
“The Sector Commander has cautioned motorists against excessive speed and advised them to use common sense speed limits.”
