Chinedu Ezeudu from Ndi Ikpa village, Awka South Local Government Area has now been apprehended by the police after it was discovered that he was reportedly selling a woman’s nude photos and videos on social media.
After his attempts to blackmail her for money fell through, he was charged with disclosing the information.
The man allegedly charged N3,000 for the young woman’s nude recordings when they were requested.
Following the victim’s report to Mrs. Ify Obinabo’s office, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Children’s Welfare, the suspect was arrested and detained by the Anambra State police command.
According to Miss Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, the commissioner’s media assistant, the victim claimed she lost her memory card in March 2023, but the suspect, Ezeudu, contacted her in June and demanded a substantial amount of money in exchange for him not leaking the naked videos.
Ezeudu threatened to release the video on all social media sites when the victim refused to pay, but her husband approached him and demanded that he remove the video.
Meanwhile, the suspect had already replicated the videos.
Ikeanyionwu claimed the suspect released the video on Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social media sites and even sold copies to those who asked for them.
The suspect was immediately detained by the Anambra State Police Command, according to Ikeanyionwu, after the victim and Hon. Ejike Okechukwu reported the event to the office of the commissioner for women and social welfare in Anambra State.
She stated that after the investigation is complete, the suspect, who is currently being held by the police, would be arraigned before the Children, Sexual, and Gender Based Violence Court in Awka.
