The Police Service Commission (PSC) in its 21st plenary meeting approved the promotion of the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) Olumuyiwa Adejobi and 14,052 others.
Adejobi, the FPRO was promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Prominent amongst the promoted Inspectors was one Mohammed Aminu who was promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police 1 (ASP 1) for maintaining high level of professionalism.
It will be recalled that Inspector Aminu, now ASP Aminu trended in May after a viral video showed where he was assaulted by Afrobeats Singer, Seun Kuti on third mainland bridge, while performing his duties.
The Commission noted that inspite of the unwarranred provocation, intimidation and serious assult on that day, the officer in uniform, exhibited a high level of professionalism, restraint and chose to follow the due process of law to seek redress.
In the meeting presided by Dr Solomon Arase, retired Inspector General of Police, two DIGs were also appointed, while 9016 officers were confirmed as ASP 11.
