Popular American TV host and comedian, Steve Harvey has denied rumours that his wife, Marjorie, cheated on him and that they are getting divorced.
The rumours began circulating on social media on last week. They claimed that Harvey had caught his wife in bed with their bodyguard and private chef, and that she had filed for divorce and was seeking a share of his $400 million net worth.
It took Harvey close to 48 hours before he denied the rumours, calling them “fake news.” He said that he and his wife are “very much okay” and that their marriage is “rock solid.”
The 66-year-old cleared the air on Sunday evening when he appeared on stage at Invest Fest 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Addressing the congregation, Harvey said, ‘We fine. I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do because we’re fine. I ain’t got no time for rumours and gossip. God’s been good to me, I’m still shining’.
Harvey’s denial was echoed by his close friend, Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko. Nwoko said that he had spoken to Harvey personally and that the rumours were “completely false.”
“Steve and Marjorie are doing great,” Nwoko said. “They’re very happy together and they’re not getting divorced.”
The rumours about Harvey’s marriage are not the first time that the comedian has been the target of false reports. In 2017, there were rumours that he had died in a car accident. Harvey denied those rumours as well.
Harvey is one of the most popular and successful comedians in the world. He is best known for his talk show, “The Steve Harvey Show,” and his hosting duties on the Miss Universe pageant. He has also starred in several films, including “Think Like a Man” and “Madea Goes to Jail.”
Harvey and 57-year-old Marjorie share four children together.
