President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum scheduled to begin on Thursday.
The Nigerian leader was received at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda.
Other dignitaries present to welcome the President included the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed; Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna; and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare.
Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Africa CEO Forum has grown into one of the continent’s largest gatherings of private sector leaders, investors and policymakers.
This year’s edition is themed, “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”
President Tinubu is expected to speak on the topic, “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will highlight the impact of ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria and the importance of sustaining them.
The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders as part of efforts to strengthen regional economic cooperation and attract investment opportunities.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu will use the summit to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, regional integration and private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent.
