President Bola Tinubu on Friday returned to Lagos after a diplomatic and investment-focused visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda.
The presidential aircraft landed at about 7:12 pm at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, where the president was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, and other top government officials.
During his visit to France, Tinubu met with global investors and used the opportunity to promote his administration’s economic reforms, stressing transparency, fiscal discipline and efforts aimed at stabilising Nigeria’s economy.
The president also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.
At the summit, Tinubu called for reforms in the global financial system and advocated stronger economic integration across Africa to drive growth and development on the continent.
He further highlighted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with interested Gulf of Guinea nations to strengthen regional security and economic cooperation.
While in Nairobi, the president held a bilateral meeting with Madagascar’s leader, Michael Randrianirina.
Tinubu later travelled to Kigali, Rwanda, where he joined African leaders, investors and top business executives at the Africa CEO Forum.
Discussions at the forum focused on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration, shared growth strategies and increased cross-border investments.
The president also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and held talks with delegations from multinational and multilateral organisations, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), APM Terminals and the Winme Group.
According to the presidency, the meetings yielded favourable outcomes for Nigeria, particularly in investment and economic cooperation.
Tinubu also participated in panel sessions and discussions centred on his administration’s economic reform agenda.
The president is expected to remain in Lagos for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections scheduled to begin on Saturday.
Ahead of the exercise, Tinubu urged party members and aspirants to conduct themselves peacefully and uphold the unity and interest of the ruling party and the country.
