Four security guards have been arraigned in court for allegedly stealing 64 pieces of pipes from their employer.
The guards, Agber Nelson, Tombuwua James, Shima Geofrey and Okunomo Adeshola, were arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Tinubu, Lagos Island on Tuesday.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Ajaga Agboko, told the court that the guards committed the crime on July 10, around 8pm at the premises of their employer, at No 54 and 58, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Agboko said the guards stole the pipes valued at N896,000 from their employer, Telisol Limited represented by one Adeniran Tunde, from a container that was being offloaded at the company’s premises.
He said the guards were caught on CCTV footage stealing the pipes.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287 (5) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The guards pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate, Taoheed Babalola, granted them bail in the sum of N250,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned to August 7 for further hearing.
