Nigerian afrobeat singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has been nominated for six awards at the upcoming 2023 Africa Muzik and Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), according to the nominees’ list released by the organizers

Davido’s nominations includes Best Male West Africa, Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, Best Video Director, and Best Live Act.

Closely following the ‘Timeless‘ crooner is top Mavin artiste, Rema and Grammy winner, Burna Boy, both of whom garnered three nominations each. Also, Tiwa Savage, Odumodublack, and Omah Lay secured two nominations each.

Other nominees on the list includes celebrated musicians like Asake, Tems, BNXN, Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, Wizkid, Shalipopi, and Young Jonn.

Some African artists who have been nominated for the awards are:
Fally Ipupa (Congo), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Nata (Sierra Leone), Femi One (Kenya), Eno Barony (Ghana), Rosa Ree (Tanzania), Feli Nuna (Ghana), Askia (Cameroon), Ami Yerewolo (Mali).

The AFRIMMA awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 17th at the Monumental Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.
