Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has firmly refuted claims that any land has been allocated to the children of the FCT Minister, reiterating that such accusations are merely unfounded attempts at blackmail. He stated, “As usual, this sponsored blackmail has failed.”
In a statement released on Tuesday, Olayinka emphasized that the FCT Minister will continue his developmental efforts in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, undeterred by these baseless claims. He noted that the previous week’s allegations involved the supposedly fraudulent allocation of 2,082 hectares of land in Asokoro and Maitama to one of Wike’s sons, despite the fact that no such land exists in those two areas combined. The accusers misused a document related to a farming allocation in the Bwari Area Council for a company known as JOAQ Farms as purported evidence of their claims.
Olayinka further stated, “This week, the story has shifted to another son of the Minister, with claims based on allocations made to a company named Jordan Farms.” He affirmed the rights of his children, friends, associates, and relatives to own property anywhere in the country, including the FCT, as long as all necessary legal conditions are satisfied. However, he stressed that, as of now, no land has been allocated to any of the Minister’s children.
He clarified that while land has indeed been allocated to Jordan Farms and Estates Limited, a fully registered company in Nigeria, none of the Minister’s children are listed as directors of that company. “The mere coincidence of one of the FCT Minister’s sons being named Jordan does not imply ownership of the company,” he asserted.
Olayinka challenged those spreading these rumors to disclose the actual owners of Jordan Farms and Estates Limited, stating, “Public records at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) can confirm this.” He provided an analogy by mentioning his own name, Lere Olayinka, and questioning, “Does my name belong to Lere Local Government in Kaduna State? Am I from Kaduna State? What about other companies like Jordan Telecommunications or Jordan Foods—do they also belong to Wike’s son?”
He added, “Even in the United Kingdom, there exists a company named Jordan’s Farms. Should that be construed as belonging to Wike’s son as well?”
Olayinka concluded by dismissing the accusations as politically motivated attacks, suggesting that those targeting the FCT Minister for his stand on power rotation between Northern and Southern Nigeria should invest more effort, as their efforts have consistently proven fruitless.
