Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dismissed reports that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s convoy was attacked in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Davido, who is the governor’s nephew and a prominent supporter of his administration, described the reports as false, saying neither the governor nor members of his entourage were targeted in the incident.

Reports had earlier emerged that gunmen attacked the governor’s convoy shortly after Adeleke visited the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji.

However, Davido clarified that the gunshot incident occurred outside the palace and was unrelated to the governor or his convoy.

According to him, the incident resulted from an altercation between some hoodlums, prompting the governor’s security personnel to intervene.

He stressed that the shooting was not directed at Governor Adeleke or members of his entourage.
