It’s been jubilation galore since Isha Sesay, 47, a former CNN correspondent announced that she has welcomed her first child.
She shared the good news on her verified Instagram account and thousands of her followers have left congratulatory messages.
She revealed that the journey to motherhood hasn’t been rosy; as she described it as a ” long and atimes difficult journey”.
Nevertheless, according to her account of events preceding the birth, her faith, prayers and support from many people brought about the victory.
“My daughter, Naimah Yasmine Kadi Sesay was born on February 17th at 9.24 pm in NYC. Her arrival was preceded by the sudden onset of preeclampsia which unleashed skyrocketing blood pressure and in the hours that followed, hemorrhaging, toxemia and fluid overload. In the darkest hours, all I could think about was my daughter and she provided the strength that I needed…
“Those difficult days are behind us and Naimah and I are thankfully back home. In the blink of an eye, my child has removed all traces of who I once was and what I considered to be important. In keeping with the meaning of her name,” Naimah” she is indeed my peace. She is my blessing…” She happily wrote.
The former anchor married Leif Coorlim, an award winning Journalist and executive editor of the CNN Freedom Project, in 2013 but they are now divorced.
She left CNN in 2018 to support a girl’s education project called W.E CAN.
