Hilda Baci has finally been announced as the new record holder of the longest cooking time by an individual.

The acknowledgement was made on Tuesday by the Guinness World Records.

In a statement on the Guinness World Records website, the organisation said: “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

Baci has had a ‘long wait’ for this accolade as a few others had threatened to outdo her efforts which was started on Thursday 11 May and went through to Monday 15 May. The 26-year-old had cooked over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stunt.
