Tragedy struck the Brazilian music scene on Wednesday evening when beloved gospel singer, Pedro Henrique, known for his infectious energy and soulful voice, collapsed and passed away on stage during a sold-out concert in Rio de Janeiro.
Henrique, only 32, was in the midst of performing his hit song, ‘Vai Ser Tão Lindo’ at a religious event that was live streamed when he suddenly faltered and fell to the ground.
According to Daily Mail, medical personnel rushed to the stage, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
“The singer had suffered a massive heart attack”, Henrique’s record label, Todah Music, told a radio station, Radio 93, a day after.
Video footages which had gone viral showed Henrique engaging his fans as he stood on the edge of the stage before he suddenly lost balance and fell on his back.
Some members of the audiences immediately rushed over to help him while others looked in shock. The singer was then rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was confirmed dead.
