In a heart-wrenching incident, a 39-year-old woman, identified as Lilian Nwarache, has tragically passed away after consuming an insecticide in the Iwaya area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
The incident which occurred on Friday, November 3 leaving a trail of shock and grief among those who knew her was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin over the weekend as he stated that the cause of death was determined to be insecticide poisoning.
“Her corpse has been removed and deposited at the Lagos Mainland Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Efforts are in progress to contact her family members and preliminary investigation is also in progress,” the Police spokesperson informed.
According to reports, Nwarache had been battling a prolonged illness that had taken a toll on her physical and emotional well-being. Seeking solace and spiritual healing, she sought refuge in a local church, hoping for a divine intervention to alleviate her suffering. However, as her condition persisted and frustration mounted, she made the devastating decision to end her life by consuming a lethal dose of insecticide.
The tragic event was reported to the Sabo police station around 2 pm on Friday. Upon arrival, officers discovered Nwarache’s lifeless body and found three passports belonging to the deceased along with her Samsung phone.
Nwarache’s passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew her. Her family and friends are grappling with the immense loss, struggling to comprehend the suddenness and severity of her actions.
