Family and friends are mourning the tragic death of Nigerian woman, Oluwabukola Pereira, who was shot dead during a robbery attack at her workplace in Lockland, Ohio, United States.

The incident occurred on May 8, 2026, at Arise Auto Center, where Bukola worked as a manager. Reports said an armed robber allegedly stole about $1,500 from the business and attempted to escape. Bukola reportedly chased after the suspect before she was fatally shot.

Her death has sparked grief among loved ones and members of her community, especially as she was preparing for a major academic milestone.

Bukola was scheduled to graduate on May 16 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Xavier University. The university also revealed that she had already secured admission for another postgraduate programme in Business Analytics, which was expected to begin later this year.
