Popular Niger Delta highlife muscian loses seven crew members to auto crash

Popular Niger Delta Highlife musician, Chief Barrister Soja Smooth, has lost his lead singer, Ikesima Brown and six other members of his “Paddle of Niger Delta” music crew to an automobile accident.

According to reports, the crew members who were enroute Abuja, where they were billed to perform in a show, lost their lives in a fatal accident on Sunday, along Kogi-Abuja express road.

The victim’s of the crash had boarded a train from Warri, Delta State to Itakpe, in Kogi State, before boarding a vehicle that was supposed to convey them to the show venue, in Abuja.

Asides Brown, who is widely known as the Niger Delta Queen of Highlife Music, other members of the Paddle of Niger Delta music crew, who lost their lives include: Chief Joseph Ekeremieye, Ebis Awiki, Tukur Eniekebi, Sololo, Dennis Abasa and Marian.

Well wishers have taken to social media platforms to mourn the deceased.

Barrister Smooth Official posted a lit candle with the caption: “Black Sunday 😭.

Tari Smooth posted pictures from the accident scene with the caption: “It’s hard to believe! Black Sunday! Barrister Smooth Official lost a host of band members to a ghastly accident. 5 – 7 members dead, including Ikesima Brown and C Joseph Ekeremieye
