The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) have said President Bola Tinubu has fulfilled his promise of delivering transformative infrastructure projects across Northern Nigeria, contrary to claims in some quarters that the region has been neglected.
In a statement issued after a media tour of Federal Government projects across the Northwest geopolitical zone in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team, the group said the Tinubu administration has initiated and sustained major developmental projects aimed at boosting transportation, trade, agriculture and economic growth in the region.
The tour covered project sites from Zuba Junction in the Federal Capital Territory through Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Kebbi states.
According to the RHA, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, embarked on 260 Special Intervention Projects nationwide, with the Northwest zone accounting for 48 projects — the highest among the six geopolitical zones.
The group described this as clear evidence of President Tinubu’s commitment to Northern development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Among the projects inspected was the ongoing reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, where concrete pavement and solar-powered streetlights are being installed. The 82-kilometre Section One of the road, stretching from Zuba Junction to beyond Jere and handled by Infiouest International Construction Company, is said to be nearing completion.
The delegation also visited the Kaduna Western Bypass, a 21-kilometre dual carriageway abandoned for over 22 years but now reportedly about 50 per cent completed.
Another major project highlighted during the tour was the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway line linking Northern states with the Niger Republic to enhance regional trade and transportation. Work is also ongoing on the flyover bridge along the trans-Sahara rail corridor in Kaduna, with completion expected in December 2026.
In Kano, the team inspected ongoing projects at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, including a Cardiovascular Centre, Pediatric Centre and students’ hostel facilitated through constituency projects of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
The delegation also toured the N27 billion irrigation project in Garko, a solar energy project by the Energy Commission of Nigeria, and a 10-hectare Agricultural Incubation Centre at Bayero University Kano developed by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure.
The group further visited the headquarters of the North West Development Commission in Kano, one of the regional development agencies established by the Tinubu administration.
In Jigawa State, the delegation observed that work on the Jigawa section of the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project was nearing completion.
The team also inspected ongoing construction work on Sections 2A and 2B of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway in Kebbi State, where site clearance, filling, stone base and concrete pavement works are progressing steadily.
The RHA maintained that the projects demonstrate the administration’s commitment to the North, urging critics to personally inspect the projects instead of relying on political narratives ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement was signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Tunde Rahman.
