Wike commends ongoing FCT road projects, promises timely delivery

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of ongoing road construction projects across Abuja, saying residents are beginning to feel the impact of governance.

Wike made the remarks on Wednesday during an inspection tour of key infrastructure projects in Karu, Apo-Karshi, and Gbazango (Arab Road) in Kubwa.

He commended the contractors handling the projects, including Abdul Val and Zeberced, for maintaining quality standards and adhering to delivery timelines.

“From Karu to Apo-Karshi and now Gbazango (Arab Road) in Kubwa, we are satisfied with the level and quality of work being done,” he said.

The minister particularly praised Abdul Val for its work on the Karu road project, noting that the company also handled the Ushafa road, which was commissioned last year by President Bola Tinubu through Vice President Kashim Shettima.

“This is the second project we are seeing from Abdul Val. They delivered the Ushafa road and are now handling Karu. The quality of work is commendable,” he added.

Wike disclosed that the Karu road project is expected to be among those lined up for commissioning during President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

He also noted that the Apo-Karshi road project, being executed by SCC, remains a critical route frequently demanded by residents and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Speaking on the Gbazango (Arab Road) project handled by Zeberced, Wike said it would also be ready for inauguration during the anniversary celebrations.

He further recalled that the same company had previously handled the A2 to Pai road, which was commissioned by the President, and is currently working on the Goma to Yangoji road.

Wike stressed that timely delivery is as important as quality execution, adding that residents were already appreciating the visible progress of development across the FCT.

“You can see the quality of work and the excitement from residents. They are seeing governance in action,” he said.

He added that preparations for the President’s third anniversary would feature several project inaugurations across the capital.
